Open Registry

Records that the Entity is constituted on the Open Registry and accepts the Open Registry Rules in force at adoption, naming the version. Adopted when the Entity registers; a charter drafted before registration carries no such article, because it would claim a fact that is not yet true.

  • Clause id: open-registry@1.0.0
  • Activated by the open-registry module
  • Composes after: ## Article I - Identity (a document package may override this through its anchors map)
  • Placeholders: rulesVersion

Item numbers in this clause are canonical: they open at 1.1 under the clause's own heading and never assume a host document's numbering. A consumer composing the clause renumbers it to continue the target document.

Legal review: 1.3 is new drafting and the point of the clause: acceptance is recorded here, not created here. The Rules are Layer 1 - the Registry's own instrument - so dropping this article does not release the Entity from them while its record stands; Rule 1 lets the Registry refuse or suspend. Without 1.3 an entity could read the clause as a term it is free to amend away.

Open Registry

1.1 The Entity is constituted on the Open Registry, and its record there is a rendering of this Constitution.

1.2 The Open Registry Rules, version 1.0.0, being those in force at adoption, are accepted by this adoption.

1.3 This article records that acceptance; it does not create it. The Rules are the Registry's own instrument, and an amendment to this Constitution neither changes them nor releases the Entity from them while its record stands.

Template Model

/*
 * Render model fragment for open-registry@1.0.0.
 *
 * Rule 8 of the Open Registry Rules is the acceptance hook: it gives the
 * other seven force without printing them in every document. That hook has
 * always lived inside the constitution - it used to be a sentence in the
 * adoption block. Making it a clause makes it explicit and optional, which
 * is what lets a charter exist before it is registered anywhere.
 *
 * rulesVersion is pinned deliberately. "The Rules in force at adoption"
 * promises that the Registry cannot change the deal afterwards, and a
 * document that does not say WHICH version does not deliver that promise.
 *
 * provenance:
 *   source: models/registry@0.1.0.cto, Rule 8 (ACCEPTANCE)
 *   licence: Apache-2.0
